Quick question - HDCP

Is my Hannspree / Hanns.g New York 19" monitor hdcp compliant? Just debating upgrading my dvd drive to Blu Ray.

Thoughts?

HDMI connection, then probably HDCP.

Ah, this is the black 19" New York XM series monitor... DVI and VGA connections only.. If it were hdmi i wouldnt ask the question.

Some DVI is HDCP. No way to be sure if its not listed, other than trying it. Probably not.

That monitor is probably old and as it's such cheap brand HDCP support is quite doubtful.

(actually HDMI doesn't necessarily mean HDCP which is contect protection form and doesn't have anything to do with physical connection/signaling standards like DVI and HDMI)

use vga and hdcp wont be a problem. otherwise buy anydvdHD to strip the encryption, or buy a new monitor. in order of preference of course.

Woot. I didnt know you could use vga to send hd content to a monitor. It would be from my comp, i.e. dvi output on my 8800gts...
