hi im am looking for 2 flat ide cables for my htpc, i want to connect 2 - 16x dvdrw drives, one to each ide port on my mobo, to keep things neat i was hoping to get single flat cables so i can tuck them away neatly

i found the product below but unsure if this cable is suitable for my nec 3540 and pioneer 109, the other cables are for using with 2 drives.

is this cable suitable for my needs or do i need an 80 wire ide cable

Ribbon Cable for 33MHz drives, 2 connectors for 1 drives (1 to connect to motherboard).

Basic 40 wire IDE cable.

Yes it will work fine, 80pin only really comes into its own for higher speed transfers like hard drives, your optical drives won't be an issue, if you can find an 80pin cable for the same price then there is no harm in having it but it isn't necessary :)

thanks for the reply, it was the 33mhz thing that had me confused and i was unsure if it was fine for my dvd rw drives, it is only the 40 wire single cable that is available from this place and they are cheap as chips anyway. :)
