Quick Question - IMAX

No it will be in 2D which is infinitely better imo, wearing glasses when watching the imax frames it in an odd way and reduces the impact.

It also has full Imax scenes which some films shown there don't and they will blow you away if you've never been before. I have my tickets booked for boxing day at the Bham imax.

Plus if you see it now you get a 6 min preview of The Dark Knight Rises.

(and I wish 3d would go away!)

Turns out it doesn't have full screen scenes like I thought it did, I was a bit disappointed by this.
Some of my family went to see it at the IMAX on Weds. From what they were telling me I assumed there were full screen scenes but not all of it.
Also heard the Batman prologue was disappointing.

I went to see it in the Newcastle IMAX and thought it was awesome, it had full screen scenes which looked stunning.

Maybe it was just the showing at the Birmingham Imax that was lacking the full screen stuff then as there was 100% none in the showing I went to as I was looking out for them. Disappointed.

We also didn't get the batman preview.

There is no brum imax anymore, and i have no idea what is meant by 'full screen stuff' in this thread.

The Giant Screen then, formerly the imax, does this screen no longer show full Imax as it is no longer part of the imax group?

Full screen as in using the full screen, like in TDK where certain scenes used the entire cinema screen rather than leaving black bands above and below like in normal wide screen.

Oh i see what you mean. It no longer shows 'IMAX' sized frames which are in a weird 1.43 aspect ratio. By breaking away from the imax brand, they upgraded the projector AND the screen installation, in that sense, it is full screen.

Ah I see, I just assumed it was a rebranding.

The Imax sized frames vs the now shown picture is definitely a downgrade in impressiveness. As I said when I watched TDK there and the full sized scenes were used (e.g the helicopter over the city) I was blown away where as during MI4 whilst the regular scenes were noticably larger on the screen there were still borders above and below.
