Buying a PS3, are there any models to buy in the shop just now that are backwards compatable with PS2?

No is the answer to the OP, unless you manage to get a second hand 60GB from somewhere, Ive only played 3 PS2 games on my PS3 since i got it at launch. If you have a large back catalogue of PS2 games you will be better of keeping your PS2 and getting a PS3, then spending over the odds for an old 60GB PS3.

backwards compatibility turns into a bit of a novelty tbh. ive got a huge stack of ps2 games so bought a 60gig one a while back. I broke it and saved a few bob not trying to hunt one down again. you'll be suprised how often you dont play ps2 games
