Hi guys im wondering if you can help me on this, it maybe a dumb question so you will have to forgive me :)

Im about to rebuild and was wondering if my old enermax noisetaker 600w will work with a gigabyte GA-X48T-DQ6 i have on order (i know the psu is knocking on now but would be a shame to replace if i dont have to)

anyways in advance cheers :)

steve

Does it have the 4 or 8 pin connector to supply the cpu with power and does it have 20 or 24 pin ATX connector.

As long as the mainboard power connector has the right amount of pins for the board i.e. 20 or 24 pin, I can't see any reason why not. It would depend on what else you're planning on powering though, in terms of it having enough grunt.

It has the 20/4pin atx connector but only 4pin supply for the cpu (heres the link quick link to it http://www.3dvelocity.com/reviews/enermax600/noisetaker_3.htm )

Im not planning anything to heavy for the build, heres the a list of whats going in

Gigabyte GA-X48T-DQ6 Intel X48
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550
OCZ 2GB DDR3 PC3-10666C7 1333MHz Platinum
Samsung SpinPoint F1 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache
BFG 8800gtx
Antec P180 case

Hey mate, yup that power supply will be fine for the motherboard with the 20+4 pin mobo P1 connector and the 4pin cpu power connector, just have a look at the side of the power supply and have a look at what the ampers its pumping out on the 12V rail for your 8800GTX should be safe if its over equal to or over 30Amps

I have plugged a 20 pin enermax in to an abit p35 board 24 pin and it worked fine same as the 4 pin will work fine on the 8 pin 12v.

Thanx so much guys i really was abit worried about it, wasnt sure that because i was putting a quad core cpu in i would really need the 8 pin. I guess its something to think about in the future.

many thanks for all the replies
