Just a quickie really

Sold an item that arrived damaged and not working. I paid £120 for it. They now sell for £105, and i sold it for £60

What amount do i claim? The £60 i was paid or the cost to replace the item ( £105 ) or the cost i paid £120

EDIT : If i claim £60 then im left out of pocket as id have to give the buyer the £60, so all id have is a broken card, which RM broke, so im a bit confused as to what to claim. Im thinking the £120 i paid?

The buyer has it currently, ive got a photo of it, also included a couple of print offs of we pages selling this item to give an idea of retail price

You paid £120 for it, and RM delivered it to your faulty. Therefore they should stump up the £120, assuming you used a delivery method such as Special Delivery.

Yup special delivery. Also took pictures of the card prior to sending, and ive got some the buyer has sent showing the damage

Refund the buyer and claim £60. I can't see how your out of pocket.

The £120 and £105 figures have nothing to do with it. The item was worth £60 at the time.

Why would you need to? You sold it.

As I see it. You no longer wanted it, so sold it. Someone paid £60 for it, therefore ti was worth £60.

What you do is tell the buyer to stick it in the bin, send the buyer £60 refund, and you get £60 from RM.

Leaves you in the exact same position as you would be in if you sold it and it works. You have got rid of the card, and got £60. The seller paid, got a dodgy card, got their money back. All happy.

Yeah youre right mate, just do £60. I asked them to keep the card and the packing as they might be needed by RM

The buyer needs to keep the item and the packaging as RM will take it. The only thing stopping RM from paying you out now is if they dont think it was adequately packaged.
