[SBD]

Hi all just a quick question before i buy some parts are the Samsung SpinPoint F1 640GB one of the best drives to by or should i be looking for a 750Gb drive or something else. I'm looking for speed and over 500Gb of space. It's going to be used to store a lot of dvds and i might get another one at a later date when needed

The 640gb uses two 320gb platters, whereas the 750gb uses three 250gb platters. The larger platter sizes mean the data is more densely packed, and therefore can be read faster (altho it does slow access time marginally). So go for the 640gb if you haven't already bought it
