Well thinkin about moving over to sky for our tv and internet

Q1. do you have to migrate to sky in the normal way??

Q2. Is sky done through your normal phone line??

But check you are in a Sky BB serviced area, otherwise their offering is not good value.

BT Wholesale - there's a whole load of ISPs available who aren't BT Retail.

Agreed, but, when push comes to shove, they offer little improvement above BT. We need cable & LLU but we are remote & not cost effective to implement. I could save a few quid by changing ISP but the benefit doesn't balance out the potential hassle.

Competition in nevada desert got a standard 11g wifi signal over 120KM (huge antenna's...) but 2x 600mW ubiquiti cards with decent directional antenna's should do the job if you have LOS.

Still, a lot of money to spend on a 'may' work solution.. fun tho

Most offer a huge improvement over BT Retail. Less or no traffic shaping, cheaper, customer service that isn't based in India.

Since posting all the stuff about mt internet troubles
The speed today has been spot on lol
Speedtest has'nt gone below 1700kb/sec im happy
But hopefully sky will be better

I am not positive on this but, I think it is more of a distance/quality of the line thing. I can download as fast as I connect no matter what time of day it is. There aren't enough of us to stretch the capacity of the exchange at the speed we can connect to it at.
