Okay well i finally got my computer running but now there is no display when i connect it up so i was wondering if you need to install drivers on your pc before you can even use your graphics card to use a monitor?

The connector in the motherboard looks quite strange as the monitor cable that i have does not hit into it... anyhelp would be appreciated :D

Im not sure how basic to get without insulting you, so please dont take offence. Can you clarify this - 'The connector in the motherboard looks quite strange as the monitor cable that i have does not (f)it into it'. Thats probably an issue - by the way no you dont need to install anything before you get something on your monitor, you should at least get the splash screen for whatever board you have, followed by beeps and some basic text if no operating system installed etc, but thats like three steps ahead.

First things first, getting your monitor to work. did you mean the graphics card doesnt fit snugly into the motherboard or the monitor cable doesnt fit into the graphics card?

No the graphics card seems perfect and there is a hd adaptor for my monitor connector it seems okay, however when i try to get a display from my monitor there is no display.

So i was trying to connect my monitor to the graphics card and get no display.

What i was trying to say is that the monitor connection on my motherboard is different from my monitor connector.

I did not use standoffs.

So when i connect my monitor cable to my graphics card then turn on my computer i get no display.

Whenever i turn it on all the fans start up but i can't really be sure if everything else is working considering i get no display from my monitor.

I'll try a post test and see how that helps

I'll try get a picture aswell :D

You need to mount the motherboard on standoffs, otherwise it will be shorting and so won't boot (which is what sounds like could be happening). :)

your case will either have come with them installed, or with them in a bag.

You ned to provide more information

SO you have now used stand off for the motherbaord

What cable are you using for the graphics card

Is it VGA (BLUE)- DVI (White or light grey) - HDMI (FLAT)

Do you see the Bios screen ???

Provide more information on what you are doing

Do you have another graphics card you could try ??

have you conected the cable the right way, not try to insult you but its worth trying - connect the DVI cable from the screen to the graphics card

Do you have a DVi cable ?? It looks like this
