Hey guys,

I updated my BIOS today (Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R) to the latest version, F6, through their own @BIOS utility and all went well. I rebooted and the system loaded :)

It seemed a bit sluggish tho so I looked back at the Gigabtye site and it seems they want you to ‘Load Optimal Settings’ after the BIOS flash... I did and now my machine won’t boot – it looks like a RAID issue, I’m sure all my BIOS settings that worked from before the flash have been changed back alright but this screen trouble me :(

I don’t see how the RAID settings can have been affected because they on/in a separate controller/utility aren’t they?

Please don’t tell me my RAID0 is lost, I really don’t need this on a Sunday afternoon :o

Cheers,

SW.

Well loading defaults in the bios shouldn't have changed anything for the RAId...only thing it could change is if the RAID is enabled or not I guess...That's one thing you could check in the bios.

After that you might have to go directly into the RAID bios, and look there. You could try to re-add the RAID0 again...Only problem with that is it could theoretically wipe your data. We had Raid setup at work that suddenly stopped seeing the O/S for some reason, we re-added the raid then it could see the drives again.

You could try it, just double check it isn't going to wipe the data first :)

Thanks for the replies people ;)

I changed another couple of settings etc, had a couple more restarts and it still stayed the same? I switched off, took the dog for a walk, came back, switched it back on and all is good again

It must have just been a fluke?

I'm so glad I didn't panic and do a format!

Cheers,

SW.
