Parents are out looking for a tv today and are wondering what to get they have seen the Samsung PS42C7HDX and a few others im trying to spot the best one for them. So far i have seen this one i think is a good TV and has a lot of inputs and seems a better spec, HITACHI 42PD8600. The resolution on the hitatchi seems better with it doing 1024x1080 according to spec sheet and a better contrast ratio.

What do people think help is needed lol

Acually looking over the HITACHI 42PD8600 does look decent. It's 1080p, quite cheap coming to £1317.94, inc P&P (from Comet)

Very much doubt it is a 1080p set for £1317.94, if it was they'd be selling out like hot cakes.

Seems it's only got a res of 1024x1080, so wouldn't be true 1080, let alone 1080p from my knowledge anyway.
From the specs I can see it can do Hitachi's 1080HD Alis, whatever that is.

That's pretty stupid, they are advertising it as 1080 when the res is 1024 x 1080, usally when you see 1080 you assume it's 1920 × 1080. Looks a little off, I'd get the Samsung.

i realised it wasnt proper 1080 but it did seem a slightly better spec, either way they got the samsung now and its nuts
