Just about to order the parts for my first full build so would you guys mind giving the basket a quick look over to check things are compatible and the such? (I suppose i'm a little paranoid of things not working :P)

What kind of speed should I expect to OC the CPU to on the stock cooler? Or is it worth throwing a bit more money in for an aftermarket and going higher?

Also is it really worth flashing the 6950 to a 6970? A friend of mine couldn't get it to work but from reading around it seems that not many people have had problems with it so I might give it a go.

Thanks :)

Go for it :)

I would consider spending £15 on a Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus to keep temps in check.

The HD6950 you've chosen can indeed be flashed to a HD6970 but by no means is it guaranteed.

Fair enough then.

It's a nice spec, but I still think a 650w or above would make sense if there is any chance of a crossfire in the future. If not, nevernind.

Yea not having Crossfire support was one thing I was worried about so i'll stick another £15 on a MSI mobo that does support and the 700W version of that PSU. My main worry with PSU is the sound as the case is only about a foot away from my head and it can get quite annoying. Thanks for feedback :D

700W will be pushing it for OC'd i5 and 2x HD6970s.

You'd need at least 750W for any degree of headroom and even then you'll be operating at the top end of the PSUs output.

Well I can pick that mobo I just linked up from elsewhere for £101 so if it isn't in stock in the next couple of days, I may have to do that.

You need to check that both PCI-E slots run at equal speeds when using two gpus, I know the GD55/65 do.
