I'll (hopefully) be getting my 3rd GTX 780 tomorrow, a MSI GTX 780 gaming twinfrozr card to run 3-way SLi along side my two MSI GTX 780 reference.
I just have a very quick question regarding SLi/3-way SLi installation on the X79 platform regarding drivers and such.

I'm going to put a reference card in the middle and the twinfrozr at the bottom. -> http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l131/Gripen90/IMG_5767Custom.jpg

What will the proper installation procedure be software wise ?
Should I uninstall the GFX drivers first, and then install the cards and then reinstall the drivers and then the nVidia X79 PCIE 3.0 patch ?

OR can I just install and switch around the cards and then start the PC and then everything runs again ? eg. PCI-E 3.0 is active and such (of course I need to enable 3 way SLi).

I've always done the first "method", but if it's not necessary then I'll just save some time and go straight to gaming/benchmarking :p

Nevermind I'll take the "safe approach" and uninstall all drivers etc and then install the new card etc :)

/Edit. Tracking number indicates the card should arrive today :D

Good luck. I didnt reinstall drivers when I went from 2 to 3 cards. System booted up with disabled sli which I then enabled and job was a good one.

No need to uninstall - plug and play

I'm forever swapping between single, sli and trisli.

Sometimes changing the number of cards in use can make the NVidia Control Panel disappear, if this happens just install the drivers again over the old ones using a clean install.

I wondered why the control panel was gone every time I disabled an enabled SLI. It didn't happen every time, but it did happen. Thanks for uncovering that mystery kaap:)
