Quick snack ideas

Wonder if diluting it further or melting sugar in water and sticking it in a spray type bottle would work?

That's what I was wondering, hence I was asking how as I can't imagine dribbling 10ml over popcorn would make much difference to most of it? When you get even to just 20ml you're looking at 70 cals added. I know it's not huge, but it's not nothing was all :)

Hummus, make your own and you can control the amount of oil etc. Can make basically infinite flavours.

I've done one with a mix of chickpeas, edamame, peas and spinach which is really nice; very fresh tasting.

1 Tin chickpeas, liquid included - 300 cal
1 tbsp olive oil - 120 cal
100g edamame (frozen is fine) - 120 cal
100g peas - 80 cal
15g tahini - 90 cal
2 clove garlic - 10 cal
75g spinach - 15 cal
Lemon juice from one lemon - 15 cal
Salt

750 cals but that makes about 7-8 portions, will keep for a week in the fridge, so around 100 cals per portion.

Can confirm, it was very easy...

I put a little oil in the pan, sprinkled in some sweetener... popped the corn, sprinkled a little sugar over it and mixed it, it was very nice. I need to work out how many calories it was actually... (Looks like about 324 cals for the 100g I used, sweetener is zero and even the sugar can't have been more than 10g, so 40 cals, maybe 80 cals for the oil and we shared the popcorn between 3. Not bad!)

I think your hob could do with replacing. Or at least a bloody good clean!

Thanks for the suggestions so far all. Have updated the OP so everything is in one place.

I'll definitely be making my own popcorn, and am intrigued by the Kallo Corn Cake and Marmite. @oHUTCHYo are those Kallo cakes very different from your standard rice cakes?

I'd read somewhere that they rank lower on the glycemic index and so better for blood sugar levels than rice cakes. Regardless, the taste and texture is really good and in my opinion superior to rice cakes :) Less polystyrene like.

Semi-necro'ing my own thread as I found a new favourite snack today. Not sure where I heard about it, and it sounds a bit grim, but a ryvita topped with peanut butter and gherkins is delicious.
