Quick spec advice

spec in sig

if i upgrade to a q6600 with ddr2 800 mhz ram will I see a noticeable improvement in gaming performance?

if so, how does the Asus P5K Premium/WiFi-AP Intel P35 or Abit IP35 Pro Motherboard sound?

or would X38 chipset be better?

A noticable difference and the Asus you mention is an excellent board. You won't be dissapointed.

With just a few changes in the BIOS, you'll get this to 3.2GHz no problem

Generally I'd say the X38 chipset is only worthwhile if you want Crossfire, not really ever going to be an issue with a Nvidia card such as you have. As Huddy says you should notice quite a difference and it ought to overclock very nicely.
