Hey,

Dads wanting a PC for Image/Movie Editing, Internet Browsing, the odd game, streaming etc.

Big as possible screen (20-22" preferably)
160GB+
C2D
8800 GTS/X

Budget is probably ~£800

Can go more if needed.

This is for everything btw..

Keyboard, Mouse, Case, PSU etc.

Thanks for any specs done :)

I haven't included a 8800 in this spec, reason being if it's for the "odd game" I wouldn't spend the money on getting something that much unless you can get the extra cash for the upgrade. For what he's using it for, I'd much rather have the Q6600 and a 22" screen, if you don't get the Q6600 and a 20" increase, you can just about get a 8800 GTS 320mb which isn't worth it. So instead I've budgeted in a X1950 Pro 512MB which is still a great card.

But if you do want the 8800 GTS/X, I'd suggest spending more money on the build. But that's my opinion in relation to my build I guess :)

^ True, ill talk to him about it again - but that specs looks good :).

Another reason for 8800, i could be using it for some of the new released games :D.

Looking at the spec..if needed i can always upgrade the 1950 Pro when needed in a few months too!

Great spec for the money.

The X1950 Pro can still hold its own mind such as Bioshock for example, although a 8800 GTS wouldn't be a bad investment if you plan on playing some of the newer and upcoming games.

I guess we could always test the X1950 Pro, or even up the budget.

TBH, upping the budget wouldn't really change anything as theirs nothing really filling the gap between the X1950 Pro's and a 8800 GTS 320MB, whichever you can afford.

Could always use the X1950 and get a 8800GTS 640 or GTX when needed.

That spec mentioned above looks pretty good for what we need. The monitor good?
