quick spelling help please...

This is driving me crazy,

How on earth do you spell the following word (bold text),

'War was enedable'

I've tried sooooo many different combinations in Google and nothing is turning up, I've also just spent the past half hour leafing through my hardback dictionary and can't find the word I'm looking for in there either.

Not being able to spell is such dam curse

Sorry, never even heard of any word like that, that would fit the context.

Do you mean inedible? It doesn't work in the context, but that's all I can think of.

I think the word is supposed to mean 'an eventual outcome' or something.
