Quick steam question

I understand you can add none steam games to Steam.

My question is if you add a game such as GTA3 (original CD version) and launch it via Steam do your friends see 'RumbleBee is playing GTA3' like with official steam games or will they just see you as online but not doing anything.

Yes, but they will show up as non-steam game.

Sometimes the ingame overlay will work, other times not.

Thanks. Yes the Shift/Tab overlay thing is another interesting point.

ooh. and does it include none steam games in your Gameplay Stats. Game time played for example

I guess I should just attach a game to it and see

Your Steam rating (amount of game time) will go up, but it won't say you've been playing non-Steam Game X for X hours.

It's hit and miss whether or not the Steam overlay will work - It works fine for me in some games (Urban Terror, Mirror's Edge) but not in others (zSnes, Soldat).
