Quick (stupid) question about V5 & previous owners

On my V5, it says previous owners is 4.

Now, does this include the last owner, so including me there have been 5 owners?

Or does it exclude the last owner, so with me and him, the total owners is 6?

Depends really, it could be 20 years old / could have been a pre reg so there's 2 potential owners straight away by the time the car is say a year old.

Let's hope it was pre registered, then leased/pcp'd for 3 years, then bought by the user at a super dooper knock down rate, sold on almost immediately for a profit with the next guy keeping it for 5 happy years....

Whilst I don't have my V5 to check for sure, my e39, which yes, is 15years old, has iirc 6 owners from new yet has had only two drivers from new, me & my old man.

It was a company car, the business changed a few times over the years, then my Dad bought it on retirement, subsequently, I bought it.

Generally thought, I'd agree with Fox, the newer the car & the higher the number of owners the more I'd be wary.

I've owned it for 2 years this month actually, and I've got the bug to upgrade. Unfortunately finances and plans for a move abroad next year mean that it's not possible.

At least one of those owners will have wiped bogeys under the seat(s). Have you checked?
