Around 2 weeks ago I bought a KA and changed my insurance over from the Integra to the KA. The Integra is therefore now not insured but is parked on the drive with tax until August. I will be swapping the insurance back onto the Integra within the next 2 weeks once the KA is sold.

Do I need to SORN the Integra for the next few weeks? Can I just un-sorn it then online and leave the existing TAX disc in, or do I need to send this TAX disc in, apply for another etc etc?

Ideally I just want to leave it TAX'd and swap my insurance back once the KA has gone.

I'm guessing they wont refund partial months either so swapping tax/insurance like this is going to cost more in the long run?

You can claim back some of the remaining tax, but to have it SORNed, it has to have no tax.

Although, you would be fine for a couple of weeks, they don't fine you immediately anyway, it's a written warning, then a fine, then if you don't respond after that, they take your car or you to court!

You could always park the Integra car in a friends garage or park it off road somewhere safe untill you can sell that ka and get the insurance back on your integra..

The car is on the drive anyway, just don't want to SORN it then go through the hassle of retaxing it if it's just for a few weeks, would rather leave the TAX on.
