Hi,

My tmobile contract is up for and upgrade/renewal on the 27th. I am away that afternoon for any time from 1 week to a month. Does anyone know if I popped in to the shop I could get an upgrade same day?

Just thought I'd ask here in case anyone has done it. Don't fancy having to wait 2 weeks for delivery and then get it sent down to me.

It's likely they'd be able to upgrade you then and there, I've done it with other providers before, but not T-Mobile specifically. You'd probably get a better deal by doing it by phone and threatening to leave though...

well i've RTM'd this last night to get it moved but no luck.

Would someone else like to try? :)

Scruffeh, thanks for the input. I've found the HTC desire with Tmobile and a plan for £5 less a month than I am already on. Even with the £60 phone fee it still works out cheaper.

I upgraded to the Desire in-store with T-Mobile. Walked in with old phone(G1), walked out with the Desire (and old phone!). If they have stock it is instant. allow a good 30-40 minutes for paperwork though.

If you're looking for a desire, don't bother as they are RARE atm in the company to say the least. We're only getting deliveries of about 500 a week into the company and most of those only go to the top selling stores.

We've been out of stock in Bath for almost 3 weeks now. Apparently there should be a huge delivery of them in about 2 weeks though, so it's going to take exactly the same amount of time to get one if you went into store as it does for delivery.

Do pop into a store to see what deals they can do you though as we now use exactly the same systems as the people on the phones do and so can do the same deals ;)

Did they take the G1 off you? Only they get about £90 on ebay and £70 with one of the recycle websites.
