Hi
Thinking of getting a tongue piercing tomorrow...
Just a few questions toa nyone whos had it done/knows about it...
How long does it take to heal up?
How easy is it to chip your teeth with them?
If after 6 months/1yr/2yrs i take it out, will it heal over?
Will i lose any taste senses?
Can i still chew chewing gum?
And also, on a guy, is it considered gay? According to one of my mates it is, i don't think so but meh... i'll ask the opionion of people on here as well.

And also, does it get annoying in your mouth?

Cheers

IMO tongue piercings look horrible.
IIRC if it's left in for too long it will leave a scar and when my friend tried eating a chewy sweet it tore her tongue a bit  .

How easy is it to chip your teeth with them?depends how much you play with it
If after 6 months/1yr/2yrs i take it out, will it heal over?the longer you leave it the better, yes it will scar over after a while
Will i lose any taste senses?i doubt it
Can i still chew chewing gum?yes but not straight away
And also, on a guy, is it considered gay? According to one of my mates it is, i don't think so but meh... i'll ask the opionion of people on here as well.who cares what other people think, its what you think that counts

And also, does it get annoying in your mouth?depends on what you do

Cheers

How long does it take to heal up? - A good 6 months for full healing
How easy is it to chip your teeth with them? - Not really, I've never done it
If after 6 months/1yr/2yrs i take it out, will it heal over? - Yes
Will i lose any taste senses? - No
Can i still chew chewing gum? - Yes
And also, on a guy, is it considered gay? - Not as far as I'm aware

And also, does it get annoying in your mouth? - Not at all

:)

My ex had her tongue pierced, it was swollen for about a week or so for which she couldn't talk properly or eat anything besides soup  Also she said at first she had to be pretty carefuly when chewing as she caught her teeth on it a few times. If you get it done I expect you get a large bar, and that stays until the swelling goes down, then you get smaller ones, so you'd be less likely you catch it on your teeth when you got a smaller one. Never knew it to be considered gay or anything, people who say that woul probabaly say that about any piercings though.

How long does it take to heal up?

4-6 weeks for initial 'healing', 6-10 months to fully heal.

How easy is it to chip your teeth with them?
very, if you keep hitting your teeth with it...

If after 6 months/1yr/2yrs i take it out, will it heal over?
impossible to say - depends on your body, how it heals and the gauge of both the initial and final jewelery.

Will i lose any taste senses?

Taste buds are replaced constantly and the needle doesn't remove any tissue so...No.

Can i still chew chewing gum?

Can't see why not...

And also, on a guy, is it considered gay?

Only if he's having sex with another man at the time...

According to one of my mates it is,

Smack him one for me? Ta.

i don't think so but meh... i'll ask the opionion of people on here as well.

There is no such thing as a 'gay' piercing.

And also, does it get annoying in your mouth?

I never notice mine; I take it out every morning to rotate it (keeps it clean) but other than that, I only notice it when I'm 'using' it...

;)

You're welcome.

What's gay about a hoop earring then?

If you have one? Everything ;)

BTW: At 18mm each side now...still have about 10mm of tissue all the way around. Goddamn, my lobes are fantastic.

mine took 4 days to deflate then about a week to become comfortable(tho this will depend on how ** body will react to it)
ive got 2 tini lil chips. its not easy to but posible. u just have to remember your tongue moves around a lot while u chew.
if u take it out it will close up within a day regardless of how long uve had it(its an oral thing)
u wont lose ant taste sensation but u may slur/lisp abit but u work it out n can get round it.
u wont have problems chewing gum once healed fully (a month or 2)
its not gay, end off. sadly u have to get used to it tho ppl will always be narrow minded. it will get annoying if u dont get it to a nice size (1st one they give u is massive to allow for swellin) once u got a decent sized one u forget its there most of tthe time

sorry if its hard to read. typin from a pda is hard work. hope it helps tho

My wife had her tongue pierced when we first met. It had it's benefits. I'll guess that's of the reasons there might be a gay association with it. She also managed to chip one of her teeth a little bit, so be careful.
