Quick V-Sync query

ok quick question here V-Sync and the UT3 demo

i hav a low end system for running this game with:
p4 3ghz 800fsb
2 gb ram 667's
7300GS PCI-e 16x

on or off, which is better for performance/smoothness

then on other games that my pc can run fine... on/off?

Turning it off will give you a higher FPS, you only really would want it turned on off you're experiancing screen tearing when playing.

I'd recommend disabling vsync and setting refresh rate to the maximum possible whenever you can. The only time I would contemplate using vsync would be in cases where I have very bad tearing or some other nasty problem (e.g. I had to use it in Area51 to stop some annoying bug where jumping didn't always work with over 100fps).

ah thats another thing i was gonna ask REFRESH rate

so far (before ut3 cames out) i had it set to lowest possible guessing that this would put less strain on my graphics card to constantly refresh

so performances increased.... now i think i was complely wrong it thinking this :S

so 75 hz is better then 60 hz for ut3 performance?

If you're gonna run without v-sync , it doesn't really matter . It only tells your monitor how fast to refresh the image on screen. a setting of 60 or 75 or 120 won't put a strain on any part of your system other than the monitor.

Always use the highest refresh rate possible
