Got the v5 for the Saab in the post today and it looks like the dealer spelled my name wrong (Ian rather than Iain, everyone does it..grr)

Assuming I should probably get it changed rather than leave it? Am I right in thinking, I can fill in the details correctly in the section where you enter new keepers details, but not tick the new keeper box and they should re-issue it without adding another keeper to the history?

why bother ?

nobody ever looks at the V5 apart from when you come to sell it. And i doubt any prospective buyer will even notice thats now how your name is spelt unless you tell them. They wont have seen it written anywhere to compare. And even if they do, who will care ?

Hmm, good point, I'm just a stickler for things being "right" - assumed it might be a problem but didnt really think about why! :p

correct it if you want

personally i wouldnt want to give royal fail or the DVLA chance to loose my V5 over one letter being wrong :)

I know chances are they wont. But its bloomin sods law the day it does get lost is when you send it back oversomething small like that !
