Don't leave RAM on auto - in fact don't leave any of the setting on auto.
For the RAM, I think Auto will just read the RAM's SPD, detect it as DDR400 and set the divider to 200 (1:1). It will then try to run at 250 and will fail.
Same may be true of Hyper Transport - might try and leave it on x5 whereas you want it on x4.
Also I had some problems with Auto CPU Voltage with my MoBo. I thought on Auto it would just leave it on stock (1.4V) - but in fact it tried to be clever.
I was happily overclocking thinking it was doing fine on stock volts only to find the MoBo had decided to use 1.55V.
If overclocking it's best to use Manual throughout - that way you know exactly what is happening.
