Quick virtualbox question

Whenever I start it up it says it's not the same version...

If I upgrade can I keep my virtual machines or do I have to start afresh?
 
I'm not that worried about the VM's, I upgraded in the end, and it said it needed to convert some files, it did it and it all appears to work. :)
