Quick virus check..

Is there any virus software you can load onto CD which doesn't need installing? i.e you can run it straight from the CD..

The reason why I'm asking is that a lot of people i see have Norton installed and installing another AV package can cause conflicts. I'm not a fan of Norton but i need to run another more up to date AV check as a quickly as possible without installation.

the only standalone scanners that spring to mind..

i just keep a nod32 trial on my usb stick, install, start the service, update, scan, then remove

There are numerous online virus scanners but I don't know if you need to run them outside of Windows.

I use A-Squared Free Malware Scanner.. Seems to be as good as most Antivirus scanners Ive used. I install it onto my usb pen and run it straight from there too when I check a PC over at work. Works a treat

yeah, has lots of fully licesnced software on it, like acronis, ghost, partition magic etc..
