I'm due to upgrade my computer soon, as I am currently getting an average of 20FPS in wow, which is appauling basically.

I'm just interested in what sort of range the others of us that play are getting.
If you could leave a basic spec of your system, with a rough idea of the FPS you get it would be great.

Thanks :)

e6600, 2gb ram, 2xGt 8800s. Average about 150fps, 60 when frapsing. I run it in 1650x1080 with the graphics details all turned up full.

twin athlon cpu 3400
3gig ram
7900 graphics card
SB 124bit audio
Frame rate 60+ in battlegorunds with 10+ players it drops to about 45-55. My system is about 2.5 years old, still plays the games with ease.

Those are some pretty impressive figures!

I'm currenty using a single-core atlon 64, with a Nvidia 7100gs, so it's no suprise I get the figures I do.
You don't even want to know what I get in battlegrounds :(

Athlon64 X2 4200+
2GB
512MB 7900GS PCI-e
SB Audigy

Maximum settings (everything to the right) at 1680x1050 gives between 60 and 100 FPS.

6300 @ 3ghz
4096mb 900mhz
8800GTS 320mb

60fps vsync'd, 8 multisamples and transparency AA enabled via nvidia control panel. Dips to 30fps in cities.

WoW is extremely easy to run. The engine used to power it was outdated before it came out.

e6600
2Gb ddr2
8800Gt 512
V-Sync on

Play at 1280 x 1024 and get mostly 60fps with it dipping very slightly in some areas. All settings on highest

Wife plays at same resolution and gets between 40-60 fps using an ATI X1800,an old AMD XP3000 cpu and 1.5 Gb ddr ram with all settings on high except AA which she has set at X2.

My old system was:

C2D E6400 @ 3.2ghz
2gb ram
640mb 8800GTS @ 650/950

All apart from AA at max. 60fps everywhere apart from raids, battlegrounds and shatt.

New system has 4gb of ram, going to test it today.

Spec in sig, get about 120fps constant, only drops when in major cities with a ton of people.

Graphically not demanding, but it takes quite a bit of CPU power to run well in high pop areas.

I add this so you can have a chuckle...

Athlon XP 2400+ with a gainward factory overclocked Nvidia 7600GT and 2GB RAM

Running on 20" widescreen LCD panel at 1680x1050 and all graphics options and sound options maxed out, except only on x2 antialiasing.

Gets 15 -30 fps with 20-25 the norm (and it is fine!). Creaks a bit when there is a virus scan in the background but its not so bad that I want to turn the scan off.

I would say needs a good graphics card and isn't too fussy about processor. Having enough RAM to avoid paging should be a given of course.

100+ fps lol - whats the point :)

Edit: Fishing at the moment from a ledge above the pool in Wailing Caverns, no one else around, and getting 50-60 fps. Obviously a graphically simple area but shows how undemanding WoW can be.

as sig spec - full everything. Max detail on NV control panel.

150-180 fps. with 100-130 in 20+ man battles.

On my macbook i get about 30-40 all the time - go into a city and it hits 10fps...

E2140 @ 3ghz
2GB Memory
8800GT
1920 x 1280, everything on full - No-AA or AF
Vsync Rarely drops belows 60.
Only struggles in Shatt. :)

i havent played this game before but really, if you brought a 7600gt or maybe better you will have much better frame rates and graphics. tell me more about your system such as the speed of that amd64 ?

I think it relies heavily on what addons you're also running. I have a Q6600 with 3GB RAM and an ATI Radeon HD 2900 Pro and I get around 45 - 60fps out in the open, and about 30 - 35 in Shattrath when congested. I do have a lot of addons though (addon folder is about 65mb in size).

I built this computer long before I got into any proper games or anything, so I went for completely basic parts, as I simply didn't need to spend the money at the time, not that I had it anyway.

The computer's as follows;
-Athlon 64 3800+ (Venice) 2.4Ghz
-Winfast 761GXK8MB Mobo
-2Gb (4x512mb) DDR Ram, unknown makes
-Nvidia Gefore 7100GS Card

As soon as the money is sorted, it's all going!
