Quick WoW Patching Questions

Well the game is coming tommorow, and i hear it has a automatic update thing on it, but if i just want to get playing, can i just download a standalone patch overnight tonight? Is the latest 2.3? And is that all you need does it contain all the fixes from previous patchs? Bare in mind i dont have the expansion or anything.

ah crap i think if you do it manuelly you have to get every single one, unless theres a 2gb+ patch that contains everything?

Can anyone confirm that that file updates everything? I dont want to spend the night downloading it for it to be the wrong file.

There's a giant patch that can take you from the installed version to 2.0.0 IIRC, then you get a patch from 2.0.0 to the latest one.. you don't need to grab millions of little ones.

You can actually download the game now, which might be a more recent version than the discs; your key is only for creating your account.

probably best to download TBC or buy it,, its cheap.. and just download that, thatway you could always create a blood elf if yo uwant a pretty character.. and still have the choise of being ugly with all the others

that should get you sorted, download in advance then spend only 5minutes patching,

also your game should be a 5cd edition which is 2.0 already (i think its 2.0) not the first 4cd edition which hasnt been on sale for a long time,

, but i think its a newer one, since it says on the disc, 2004-2007.

I have te game, ill install it later and do the updates overnight, Just one question though, if my internet disconnects whilst its updating, do i loose al lthe data? Or is it stored and just waiting to be continued?

It used to be quicker to download of other places. Not sure if they've changed it but they used some propriotory P2P software when it first started and the bandwidth was awful.

I'd, personally, download the patches of a place that is fast and apply them that way.
