Right now i'm doing it with my S3 plugged into the computer and uploading it directly from that. It's 500mb and has took half an hour just to get to 20%.

My brother uploaded a 150mb file and it only took him 5mins on the same connection. What's that all about?

Is me doing it through the computer, through the phone a slow method or is my best bet to just compress it? If so, what's the best way to do it?

EDIT: Whoops, probably the wrong forum to post it on. Feel free to move it. Might get a quicker reply here though. :)

In hindsight i probably should have transferred it to my PC. Uploading it from my phone through the PC probably wasn't the best idea. It's on 33% now though and even though it'll take a few hours, i'll feel stupid if i cancel it now, try it another way and get the same speed.

i would say it is entirely dependent on your internet connection

Yeah, but it's understandable how doing it through 2 at the same time phone > computer > facebook might slow it down.

I didn't cancel it though 'cause it's at 53% now and i'm in no rush really but would be well ****ed if i did and then it uploaded at the same speed.

Why all that stress. You just just press share from your phone. Then put your phone down and forget about it.

Even if using the PC was somehow quicker, unless you were uploading multiple videos per day/week, why even waste time giving it thought? If you are using the PC, you are at home anyway so won't be using your data allowance, if you don't have unlimited.

It took his brother 5mins to upload 150MB = 30MB/min or roughly 50k/sec which sounds reasonable for a broadband connection.
It took him 30mins to upload 100MB (20% of 500mb). So clearly there may be other factors at play.

Personally, I'd copy it to the PC first which should be pretty quick (maybe a couple of mins) and then upload from there, making sure nobody else is uploading at the same time of course.
