looks good although if your friend is likely to ever want to run the graphics cards in SLi, they will need something other than an intel chipset as they only support crossfire on ATI graphics.

Also, for the price, I would suggest the OCZ ModXStream 780W PSU

Only other thing is you can save a few pounds buying an OEM cpu rather than the retail as you won't need the cooler that comes with the retail

get a corsair HX620 PSU
why spend so much on a graphics card now when he could buy a 8800GT for now and change to a 9800 in a few months time.
get the thermalright ultra 120 extreme and a 120mm fan, it will be a better cooler.

Pretty much the same spec, but a much better PSU and a perfectly capable graphics card that'll be fine until the 9 series arrive.

I've got the black version of that monitor, and it's pretty decent. Generally need s the gramma bumped up a notch, but otherwise it's fine.
