Quicktime woes

Running XP SP2 on a laptop. When accessing trailers on the Apple web site (and non-Apple movie sites) Quicktime launches but then I just get a mess of yellow and green static lines where the video should appear.

I can hear audio ok.

Any ideas?

uninstall quicktime

use quicktime alternative (it's a lightweight alternative, it's on codecs.com)

try it in firefox & ie
