Quid co is it worth it?

Does this Quidco and other lot make their money out of selling on your personal details and spamming you constantly? I'm failing to see how they operate?

It's by referral links. Unlike e.g. banner ads they're very likely to result in a sale from a click through.

I can understand the two sites sounding like scams, but for once on the internet, they're not.

Source for that? I find it hard to believe they can hope to be profitable from such a small membership charge.

It's mentioned here: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/cashback-websites

Topcashback apparently also pass on 100%, to quote from the MSE website:

TopCashBack* is one of a number of sites paying out 100% of the cashback it receives. It’s top because most of the other 100% payers keep the first £5 you earn a year; it doesn’t.

This, of course, raises the ‘how does it make any money?’ question. My assumption is it works in two ways; firstly because it’s likely to receive bonus payouts, which can’t be assigned to any individuals, when it hits sales target amounts of specific products. Secondly it's building a big, well visited, reputable website and that in itself accrues value.

Of course it is, money for nothing and it takes 2 seconds. Made over £10 just from ebay in the last few months and that is one of the worst cash back offers.

All it takes is a few more clicks when you go to order something online as you have to go through their site rather than direct. It is easy and quick and it works, I've got nearly £300 from topcashback in a year and try to recommend it to anyone I know. You won't se a huge return on things like CDs and DVDs but if you buy a mobile contract, or any sort of insurance etc it can start to add up.

think i've earnt a few hundred quid, just signed up with a vodafone £20 p/m sim only deal which has got me £100 cashback:)

I tend to use Topcashback. Had my £8.18 in cash back paid out a couple of weeks ago, quick and simple! :)

Oh, you can quite often get cash back for signing up to free trials to websites like Lovefilm & Audible. I got £4 cash back just for getting a free audiobook from Audible, then cancelling afterwards! :) And you get £15 from TCB for signing up to a free trial from Lovefilm and receiving one DVD in the post.

Had a conversation with a friend about this the other day. He uses it and has had a bunch of money back.

I've just signed up to give it ago :D

It's defo. worth it.

I signed up to Virgin 50MB last year with them and got a bit more than £65 back through them. Can't say no to getting 2 months for free :)

Neilson are the only people who haven't tracked for me so far on quidco, install neilson spyware run it for a month and they should give you £1.50. Thus far they have not. Quidco are currently investigating.

All else has come back fine.
