Quidco

Topcash back is good too.

I'm planning on using this for the first time next month to get £45.00 back on my car insurance. They're not too bad then?

It's a good idea to use http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner to delete all your cookies before you click on the cashback link. Topcashback are one to consider too. (no £5 per year fee ! )

I always use C Cleaner before I shut my system down, are you saying use it before ordering to clear cookies then don't use it again so it can be tracked?

Short answer is:- Yes.

longer answer:-
If you've visited the merchants site before you've used CCleaner then yes.

explanation:-
When you click on the merchants link in Quidco or Topcashback.com (TCB) it puts a cookie on your computer to attribute the sale to Quidco or TCB (and ultimately you).

The trouble is if you already visited the merchants site say a phone shop, the phone shop may have put a conflicting cookie on your computer to denote to google or another advertiser sent you there.

So to answer you question if you want to be ultra sure, it's best to use the CCleaner if you've visited the merchant site before you last used CCleaner.
If you can't remember just use it just before you click on the link in Quidco. TCB.

Thanks for that - I'm aware of how cookies work but wasn't sure if these companies use them specifically to track. Think I've just got into the habit of using C Cleaner to clear my cookies and history before I shut down. Suppose I'll have to remind myself not to use it again till after I receive my cash back :p

Every time I've used Quidco, the cash back gets tracked within a day however the payment times vary massively. I'm annoyed as we switched our gas and electricity to Npower and are due to be receiving £40 cash back through Quidco, the same offer is now £100 cash back :/.

One more vote for topcashback here. I've not used quidco as for the first 10 things I bought, TCB had the better cashback rate - and no fees.

I've got about £130 over the past 7 months - all of which I've been able to claim (i.e. nothing is still pending). I had two or three items that didn't track, for whatever reason - probably as I visited the site before remembering to go via TCB.

I opened up a claim and both of them were sorted out easily (as long as you could remember when you placed the order!).

As to complaining that you ended up getting a worse deal because quidco didn't track it... I'm not sure about quidco, but with TCB it states you should not factor the cashback into the equation as the cashback is never guaranteed.
