Quiet case for i7 build (overclocked)?

zalman gs1000? this is the best case recommended by an ocuk employee? hmm i went off this after reading bad reviews.

i am after a silent case with good cooling and plenty space. narrowed down to lian li pc767, zalman gs1000, cosmos rc1000. as my options. Still not decided like but thats mainly coz im pondering paying 300 quid for a q9650 or just going i7 since newer tech.

lian li pc767
PSU cage of that case works well only with straight through airflow PSUs which is major minus and PSU has to also suck in heat rising from graphics card.

GS1000 might do but would require work: Those restrictive noise producing airflow decreasing meshes directly in face of fans would have to go, bottom intakes would need air filters especially if you're going to keep case on floor and with full complement HDDs surely won't fare well in cooling. Also fans seem to be high speed noisemakers of same Zalman quality as those in heatsinks: The fans themselves were also a disappointment, and once we'd removed one and plugged it into one of our test benches, we could clearly feel vibration from the bearings indicating these are not very well built.

Cosmos has some good silencing features and IIRC also air filters but also problems in cooling many HDDs.

its made of 50mm thick aluminium and would survive a neuclear fallout
Better to keep it protected and out of LOS of detonation, aluminium's melting point is 660C (iron ~1500C) so it's not going to survive fireball's radiation or following firestorm well.
(point error...)

i suggest you google each case that you are interested in and look at other sites that have reviewed them

i hav read lots of reviews but in the end it comes down to which faults are less prominent. Real world experiences of each case are much better to go by.
I am leaning more towards the cosmos though.

i think we need to google the performance of each case under neuclear fallout conditions - i think the zalman would perform the best :D
