Quiet CPU Cooler

Not sure if it will fit in your rig as it's on the HOOGE side but the Megahalem is possibly one of the best air coolers out there at the moment. Although originally supplied only for Intel socket 775/1156/1366 there is available an AM2 2+ / 3 mounting kit - the cooloer can be had from OcUk for £46.99 inc vat:

For the same price, the Thermalright Venomous X is better.

Edit Hmm it appears it doesn't support AMD, but there still is the TRUE.

Well, cost-performance wise, you're better off with a Thermolab Baram and two fans:

Using the same fan configuration ie Noctua Push/Pull, it was better than the Prolimatech and the Noctua NH-UP12. You could couple it with some other cheaper fans as well.

The Baram is £30 @ OCuk + another 30 quid for the same fan setup the Noctua comes with

Wasnt looking at spending a lot as only have ~50 quid to spare if i can get a CPU cooler

Get some cheaper fans, it doesn't have to cost £30 to get a couple of good quality fans. The Xilence Red Wings are quite popular for example. Even if you get a couple of Akasa Apaches, the cost will be less than the Noctua NH-U12P.

Dont get free delivery here and there are no other competitors that sell it

Am seeing mixed opinions over it beating the Noctua or not, some reviews say yes others no

Cheers will have a read of it

I did read somewhere though it is a pain to install

vs. the Noctua (regarding pros and cons) what is better please?

The earlier revision was a pain but they totally revamped it and it's now very easy to install.

The whole design is more efficient than the Noctua such as the 5 heat pipes as opposed to just 4, the way they are spread out across the fins, and the performance speaks for itself.

Helios have you got Venomous X's review up on your website yet? Mine should be with me tomorrow

EDIT just checked, cant see it

What has changed in the revision?

I see you did that review on the Baram, you mind if i email you with the address on the contact info page? I have a question or two for you and that is easier for me

Send away, I'll be more than happy to help.

Not yet, I'm gonna work on it during the weekend. I just haven't had the time. It's a terrific cooler though and you won't be dissapointed. In fact, it's so good I was having thoughts about changing my NH-D14 for it due to the size difference :O.
