Quiet(ish) modelling amp required.

Another quick question, although the Super Champ is louder, do you get the same sounds at low volume due to it being solid state overdrive etc or does it still need to cranked?

Ta :)

14 Sounds amazing using my Gibson les pauls.

No in my experience it does not need to be cranked at all, I play it on barely above 2 and it sounds great. Very sweet amp, but they might be hard to find though, I got lucky when my local store had one in. Theres a severe shortage of them and im not surprised.

They've got the Vibro for £180 and the Champ for £220 at my local Rimmers, I'm heading out there when my missus gets home :)

I think the Vibro is the one I want.

The Champ i £199 on GAK. They appear to have em too...

Yep so it's more or less the same price by the time you've added delivery and if anything goes wrong with it I would have to ship it back to them.

They will price match with GAK at Rimmers but I'm trading in a guitar that doesn't get played and I can't be bothered ebaying, it's trade in OR price match, they won't do both apparently :) The Vibro is cheaper here anyway.

The Vibro has a whole raft more.

No it doesnt.

Yeah I've had a look and a quick play, cheers :)

This amp is incredible for the size/price, not so long ago I was looking at a Tweed Blues Junior for £300+ and in all honesty it didn't sound as good as this, well ok maybe it did but this just sounds cleaner, the Blues Junior was a much hissier amp this thing is nice and quiet, I tend to give it a little more reverb than I usually would, that makes it sound like there's a Blackface cranked up at the end of my garden :)

As a bit of a bonus my Boss ME-50 has an acoustic setting, when this is selected and I use setting 16 on the amp it give a really nice strumming acoustic sound, not something I was looking for but it's a damn nice sound.

Anyone want to buy an AC30? :D

Oh and before I forget, although I'll probably mic it for recording, it has a line out that can be plugged into a PC/Multitrack :)

Out of interest, what happens if you plug a 5watt amp into a cab? does it sound lost or will it just be louder?

I really can't recommend this amp enough, it is exactly what I was after.

Thank you one and all:cool:

It dont have a headphone socket for silent practice does it? thats the only thing I dislike about my Super champ XD. If I want to play late at night U have to use my cube 30x, and I wish the fender had one.

It has a line out, not sure if that can be used, it can be used for recording apparently but not sure if it mutes the speaker...1 min, I'll find out.

Whey, a fellow ME-50 owner.

Bloomin' marvellous thing it is too :)
