I'm just looking into the posibility of getting a NAS to store my music on. I was looking at RipNAS however I really don't want to spend that much money. Idealy I would like a minimum of 1tb of useable storeage with RAID (so probably 2x1tb drives) and it needs to be very quiet, idealy fanless. Am I better off getting an enclosure and some drives separately or are there any prebuilt solutions that are worth having? Obviously it needs to have the ability to work as a upnp server and budget wise I would say about £400 tops, though it would be nice to spend more like £250.

Oh and sorry, I didn't know wether to post this in networking or storeage!

Cheers

Personally, I went the ATX file server route (using S3 standby), but if I wanted a small, quiet NAS I'd be looking at QNap and Synology ranges. I know WD also do some RAID Mybooks which might be worth a look, although they are more basic.
