I currently have a VS450 PSU that I bought for this build, the VS450 PSU seems to be faulty, makes a lound grinding noise from time to time which is a common fault.

Ideally I want to replace it with a quite or silent one, I've seen these two which claim to be silent when not under load

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £130.95
(includes shipping: £11.10)

My budget is <£40

I'm leaning towards the EVGA, any better ideas?

Thanks

The Corsair VS series are poor quality and should be avoided anyway. They have even cheaper internals than the CX series and we don't even recommend those on here.

There is nothing special about any of them. They are all budget psu's built down to a price but if you want a quiet psu then the BeQuiet will probably be the quietest as it's their big selling point. It's a FSP built unit with 288w across the dual 12v rails.

If it's the same build in the link without a discrete GPU then way more than enough. Even during benching with my gpu heavily overclocked I have only seen my pc pull just under 300w at the wall. Normal gaming use is up to 252w at the wall and that includes several fans, watercooling and a couple of fan controllers as well as the stuff in my siggy. People often massively over estimate how much power they actually need.

Agree on this and other corsair products, to many fingers in other pies and not concentrating on quality
