Quiet PSU

I'm looking for a very quiet PSU for use in a a Lian Li PC-Q07, budget about £40, as I'm trying to get mainly passive cooling for the rest of the components.

Only gonna be running a G840 or i3 and at most a 6670, most likely will be a PCI-powered card though, so huge power isn't needed really, any suggestions? I was looking at this: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-238-CM&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=

Thanks for the links, I've also spotted the Rasurbo 450W EAP Eco PSU, which is about £45, is it a quality PSU? I don't know much about quality for the PSU side of components

Never heard of rasurbo, so I'd avoid. Try and get a rebranded seasonic like the xfx xxx ones.

Just don't, theres zero reviews of it, its OEM manufacturer is HEC and it doesn't even seem to have a efficiency rating such as 80+/Bronze etc.

Well the V1 of this PSU is quiet when its not under load, I put one in dad's PC just over a year ago & I can't hear it over the other PC fans.

Right, thanks guys, I'm gonna have to find a reference for noise levels as I'm not sure exactly how loud these are, thanks for pointing out the rasurbo though

Do agree, stuck one in this - http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18202171 - the loudest thing in it is the DVD drive opening/closing

I have this psu and it is driving me up the wall, I believe its the fan clicking away. Anyway it will be sent off to Corsair soon.

I was just unlucky I think, loads of people are happy with this psu! Other than this I've found it to be very good for the money!

So is there a noise difference between the 2 versions? or is the v2 still the same?

Massively unlikely you will find the original version, the V2 replaced it quite a while ago.

Yeah, I thought as much. Still I doubt the v2 will be that much more noisy, if at all
