Quieten my DDC or get D5?

There is no much difference between serial and parallel in temperatures (usually parallel is a little bit cooler), but there is a difference in restriction/flow.

Lots of schools of thought here, however one thing im confused with is how pressure matters? Surely as long as there is enough pressure for the loop to flow at the required lph then thats all that matters? Also has any one got concrete evedence on temps vs flow rate? As is my head if its 10% slower it spends 10% more time in each component so it also spends 10% longer cooling in the rad as it does heating in the block. However the loops are so fast any way does it really make that much difference? Of course if it slowed a lot it would.

The trouble i have is my pump is attached to my res (xspc res) so i might try see if i can mod the res to be a res only and run the pump on foam first.

you should be able to take out the ddc pump, get a top if needed, and you should be able to put 2 barbs in the in/out of the reservoir. Oh and install the pump on some foam/rubber+velcro, and you will notice the difference.

I found that a D5 on setting 2/5 with an integrated bay res sitting in a foam half cube was effectively silent and did not send vibrations into whatever the machine was placed upon, its not an elegant solution though.

now I am trying a glass tube res with attached d5 which will be bolted to the case, it includes foam pads which go between, however I cant see how the
vibrations wont just be transmitted through the bolts which hold it on,
in testing I found that the pump res was quite loud if placed on a table, but if I held it, completely silent, so it would seem the decoupling is critical

This is the reason i run a seperate res and pump. Easier to isolate the pump as you can move it around. Altho saying that my d5 sits on the bottom of my case, setting 5 and i cant hear anything.
