Quirky is that good or bad?

Well I have been called quirky I asked the person what they meant and they replied, " your a bit odd you wont do what everyone else does you do it your way" I took that as a compliment as it`s true.

I'm hoping there's a difference between "quirky" and "weird".

Judging by what you guys have been saying though, when people call me quirky it's a polite way of saying "you're really really bazaar".

:(

Quirky is usually used to describe women, ones who like to dress like the fell in an Oxfam and juggle or ride unicycles over the weekend.

These stylistically quirky types can **** off, it's all about being a bit bat**** crazy.

quirk·y
adjective, quirk·i·er, quirk·i·est.
having or full of quirks...

quirk
a peculiarity of action, behavior, or personality; mannerism: He is full of strange quirks.

Another way of saying you're peculiar, hmmm sounds worse when you put it like that

To me it means you're interesting in an unconventional way, I wouldn't take it as an insult for sure.

sometimes it's something people use when they don't know what to say. like when people see someone and say hi ya alrighttt? they don't really want to know the answer it's just a standard response when you see someone, quirky is the same in that when people can't think of a good way to respond they just say you're quirky and then people are left thinking is that good, bad, what does that even mean etc.

another good example is when trying to list compliments for fat people, one that comes up often is bubbly, which to me is an insult but it's a standard response that hasn't really been properly described so people are left thinking it's at least a response but was it good or bad
