Quite the bedroom makeover - have a look (loads of pics)

Here's the rest of the room, just realised I never even included it in this.
Firstly, a pic of the state of it back in early 2003. Absolute disgrace.

The stacked wall cabinet:

Also got new bedclothes and matching curtains.

Re-arranged the room to move the wardrobe and cabinet together into the corner, and they fit with no more than an inch to spare  Was obviously always made for that corner but it took me 4 years to realise it.

Whitecrook - I have about 5m of spiral wrap here but it's a bugger if I ever have to detach one of the cables or add another one in :) Plus the fact that they're well out of view already so it would be unnecessary. In fact, I peered under the desk just now to see what state they were in, and that was the first time I've seen or looked at the cables in months :)

Ahh, K no bother, ... Good thing about the JML thingy's (imitation ones are available :) is that it's split down the side so adding, removing is no bother :... :)

Get a nice print up on the wall or something to finish it off :)

i agree.

also get some dark coloured bed sheets, and do away with the matching curtains.

Looks amazing other than that mate. well done

Very nicely done mate. Just nearly finished my office off.
I would recommend that you have a look at tidying up them cables a little though to give it that really clean finishing touch.
D-Line trunking is a good buy and comes in a variety of colours and sizes. I am hiding all my power and network feeds in mine.

I wish I had the time or patience to do something like that - I never quite get things fully finished.

I always get through the design/build stage then never finish it off which is what creates 70%+ of the look - I've been like it ever since I was a kid - I used to build Lego technic models meant for twice my age then as soon as they were built I'd play with them for 5 minutes max and then trash them.

Top job by all those involved.

Great job dude but ditch the curtains and get some blinds, get a better quilt set and put some good art on the walls. You could also put some panels under your desk to hide the cables a bit like a fake wall.

Looking great! Whenever we moved into this house there wasn't a lot I could do with my tiny bedroom. I even had to purchase a junior devan bed in order to get my door to open and shut (it must be about 5ft x 2.5 ft  ) As my furniture was falling apart anyway I built a whole wall of wardrobes, cupboards and desk/shelves and I have to say it is the best thing ever. Having something fixed solidly like that beats any stand alone, wonky computer desk purchased from a shop. I will soon be taking the biggest bedroom in the house when my oldest brother moves out next month and the first thing I will do is build similar stuff in there and get a normal size bed :p . You will find though that over the next few years you'll buy new equipment that won't fit as well as what you already have such as the printer.
