Thing is I want to build a system up over a couple of years.
It's going to have 4 water cooling loops. 30 x 500rpm fans, tri gfx. sata raid card with several ssd drives and 4 or so 1+tb drives. So eventually it will be a monster. But I'll be building it up slowly and one of the first upgrades i want is the psu, but I don't want it to be to loud or underpowered. Don't wont to be swapping stuff continusley.
If you really want that kind of system I'd say use two psu's.
Should make the upgrading process much easier and in the year or more it's part built you only be needing one on
That said if it has enough connectors just get one of the 85+ range from enermax - w3bbo has one for his build and I'm sure he'll tell you the score on how quiet it is.
But what are you cooling with 4 loops! and 30 fans
3 gfx, 1 cpu+mobo, 4 x 120:3 rads with push pull config. Or that's the idea. Just something totally mental. and see what it can be clocked to with near silence.
trouble is the case is already huge, don't really want to go the two psu route. (620x500x400 dxhxw)
Is there any other watercooled psus. Can't even find any 2nd hand koolance ones.
ive got the 750W Be Quiet & if i turn all my fans off i can't hear it over the noise from the fan on my GFX ( GTX285 stock cooling at idle ). quietest psu ive ever used. and thats in a watercooled rig that doesn't make much noise in the first place.

Does the GTX285 have a really quiet fan? My 7800GT stock cooling was quite noisy and now have it on a passive cooler. All other fans are running at 5v and samsung F1 1TB is in a scythe silent drive enclosure which I still can hear above the fans.
