Guys ive been blown away with some videos and screenshots ive seen on how the racing community has moved along since my GP4 days.

Is their anyone here that is into R-Factor and can give help or links regards modding the game with community updates.

I ask this as usually this can be a nightmare with various patches. Havnt got a clue as to what or where id need to start, thought id ask here before looking like a complete plonker on some of the proper Fan Sites for the game.

Considering running R-Factor in

1. 1920x1080 res if possible with AA etc
2. Track IR looks interesting or is it a gimmick
3. What PC & Graphics specs do i need

Is the above possible....

well i run at 1680x1050 with level 5 AA in rfactor control in dx9 mode and all rfactor details on high and multisampled aa enabled busting 200fps easy with MMG f1 2007 SE v1 mod that should give you a clue to what specs you need, a lot of guys i know run at 1920x1080 with old 8800gts`s and 2.4 core duos no problems at all

Thanks for the replies, seems though its a minefield of mods for just about everything, patches addons etc

Is their any easy link to a guide to have say the F1 07 or 08 season with the HDR the best FFB patch etc all from a fresh install? Need help here on where to start what then people recommend to add etc?

Forgot to ask is Vista a problem?

I got fed up with PC gaming with all the hassle, patches updates drivers, crashes etc a few years back. Havnt really PC gamed in about 4 years

Now when i look into this title with the amount of mods available and then even F1 mods, FFB mods, Tv cam mods, gees you name it i could spend a month just looking into it all. I dont want that hassel of trying certain mods only for it to ruin something else, just want to get into it and enjoy it.

Just need a guide on what i need from getting the game installed to updates, whatever patches and mods that are highly recommended.

Appreciate if any of you can help.

Dunno which F12008 mod you mean, our league has been trying out the FSR2008 mod (which you apply on top of MMG2007), and it's superb IMO. We'll be using it for at least a few races in our next season - along with the F1 1979 mod, the Porsche Carrera Cup mod and maybe the BMW 320 E21 mod too, and maybe even some others (we have loads still to test). There's quite a lot of very good mods for rFactor, but also of course a lot of average ones. rfactorcentral can arrange them by average user review score though to help you find the good ones.

Our last season was entirely the 1979s and that was brilliant. All these mods are a piece of cake to install btw, as are the masses of excellent tracks you can get. My rFactor folder is about 10GB  :D

As for performance I would think an 8880 GT would be fine for 1920*1200 with modest AA. And about patches, I believe the DVD release is the current version, or if you buy it electronically there's just one patch.

Well ive been playing around and im quite impressed.

Firstly so far on how easy its been with R-Factor to add mods etc.
Havnt configured the wheel or anything yet, just messing with keyboard but im at the stage now of REALLY wanting to add Triple screen gaming after seeing You tube videos.

Anyone one here bother with this?
Seems a lot of PC games support it which makes the idea more attractive.

That brings another question what GFX card would be needed to power all 3x screens
