R.I.P Keith Flint

Watched them in 94 at the Apollo.
Massive part of my youth..

RIP.....

The Apollo in Wolverhampton? I saw them there too but in 96. People were handed out club flyers that said "Breathe". I assumed it was advertising a local club / promoter, but later realised that it was advertising the Prodigy's next single which charted a few weeks later.

First time I saw the band live at the Pheonix Festival in '96 made me realise that this guy was absolutely bonkers. Liam and Leeroy were on the mic, mostly the former whilst Keith was either whipping up the crowd into a mental frenzy or just crowd surfing all over the shop. There was some trouble too at a few points during the performance but I'm convinced that the night took away a proportion of this 40 something's hearing away. I've got great memories and I doubt I'll ever forget that day.
There is a track from the Phoenix festival on the breathe single, if you have iTunes or some other streaming service :)

Really sad about this, I was a massive fan in the 90s from my raving days and The Prodigy Experience. I went to see them at Bug Jam/Beetle Bash a few years in a row (can't remember which) at Santa Pod and I remember when they first played the Jilted tracks there. Warriors Dance was a tune I loved about 10 years ago and then I finally got to see them again at Ally Pally in November last year.

Almost tempted to blow the dust off my old 1210s that haven't been used for about 15 years and get my old XL vinyl collection out. :(

RIP Kieth Flint, proper legend.

No doubt mental health has played a role in his untimely demise. That's the thing with depression, often its hidden and masked, and by the time its known its too late. Mental health support in the UK is abysmal and needs a serious overhaul.

His "depression" nothing do with his massive drug intake then ?

Sorry, I can't muster any sympathy.

Live by the sword...blah, bleargh, you know the rest.

You still have them? I sold mine and still regret it.

RIP Keith.

I done massive amounts of drugs in the 90s went to nearly every club in Liverpool on a regular basis, used to take about 2-3es not at once mind you and raved until 7am. The Prodigy tunes used to have every club up in arms.

I wonder how I'm still alive ..the amount of **** I took .. but yeah I'm still here so nothing to do with drug intake .. there are loads like me ..
and whats this about depression ? you can assume all you like but don't say fact till you get facts .. not everyone out there is depressed just because they say when it's time i'll do it myself ..
could it not be he was just tired and board .. and thought **** it ?

I think about selling mine every now and then as I don't use them anywhere near as much as I used to, but I don't need the space or cash and figured I'd regret it if I did!

You have absolutely no idea what his mental health issues were and what they stemmed from. I did a **** load of drugs and am fine. I know 3 people who have committed suicide and didn't do a drug in their lives. Mental health issues can hit anyone at anytime.

Seen Prodigy a few times. Keith was a fantastic front man, 49 is so young :(

Really hope there is a tribute tour to raise money for xzy charity

He only said it as he is hidden behind a keyboard. These sort of blokes would never say boo to a goose in real life. God bless him.

As for the topic, I loved this group, I was brought up listening to them in the 90's.

Most of the stuff I was into in the 90s I don't really get on with now (lol @ Cast and Lightning Seeds), but I still enjoy Prodigy just as much. Even got my son, 9, into Firestarter (Mrs Cheesyboy is suitably irritated to be awoken by it blasting out of the smart speakers).

I showed him the Firestarter vid, for the first time, as a sort of tribute to Keith. His eyes were wide.

RIP Keith.
Your music kept me company, and awake, at the military guard posts between 1995 and 1999.

Was a big fan of the prodigy and especially Kieth as having met him back stage at a world dance event in 1992 we shared a Jamaican cigarette and had a good chat about things that you do when your high lol .
