r290 problem

hi there,
recently got a r290 (reference blower yikes i know)..
installed it no problem, drivers etc fine..
i only so far get this screen when i am playing diablo 3, but playing other games like bf4 it does not crash at all..
the core temps and vram temps are also fine..
any ideas?

Just RMA it

I had that when I undervolted it! If you've not been playing with clocks/volts, I'd RMA it!

Are the core clocks jumping around when you play this game Thai?

Which drivers are you using?

as far as i know the core isnt jumping around.. stays pretty steady..
i am using 14.4..
i am also using msi afterburner.. would it help if i up the "power limit %"? to it on +50%?

It certainly wouldn't hurt to try. You could also try raising the voltage a notch or two as well if that does not help.

It should be ok. What are the amps rated for on the 12v?

If that's the one it should be fine, 52 Amps on the 12V is plenty. I think a 290 needs around 28-31Amps, give or take.

What are the stock clocks of your 290, is the memory or core overclocked from a typical stock 290?

no overclocks on them.. just stock speed for core and memory

I've had the same and gather that it may be showing stuck memory, although there seem to be a list of potential causes for that. I've also had so many blue and black screens that I have just about given up on my 290. Shame as it seemed a good card to start with.

Why don't you just RMA it and get one that works how it should?

That will most likely be the next step. Fortunately I still had my old graphics card to fall back on.

Try what i suggested first and also try using the latest 14.6 drivers and see if it happens again.

Randomly I used GPU Tweak and overclocked the 2D side, I can't recall to what values, but it sorted most issues with my ref R290.

Now its just a but noisy with the hot weather, as a side thing, anyone know of any good guides for replacing the fans / heat sinks?
