I have noticed often lately, due to the lovely warm weather, that my MSi R390 often hits 80-85deg under load. I know 390s operate at high temps but 85 seems a little high. The card is not OC'd.

I only have the 2no default fans on my case, Phanteks Eclipse P400 - 1x front 1x rear. Would adding a couple more fans help bring the temps back down to a more sensible level or do I have to just grin and bare it till the weather cools?

I have the sapphire 390 and mine normally sits about 74C with current weather.

what temps would you normally get?

sometimes MSI stick on far too much thermal paste which causes cards to run hotter than normal. you could always try and re do the paste on the GPU as a last resort.

there is a post here about someone else having high temps with the MSI 390

Similar to yours, about 75/76.

Think I'll just purchase a couple of extra 120 fans, see if it helps, don't want to mess with the card.

that's fair enough, maybe use some software to increase the gpu fans or do a custom profile for warmer days

my temps are normally when i play the Division and i have 2 x SP120s intake and 2 x normal fans at the back and top which came with the case S340) the GPU has 3 fans as well
