As per title, If i can get a used 3700X! I mainly game/Sim on my PC, I play AC, ACC, AMS2, RF2 and MSFS mainly, Is it worth the bother? PC specs in my sig, Cheers.

Using HWinfo my Vega56 is always 100% and my 2700 around 40-50%, So it's a waste of time? I thought the single core uplift and 7nm might improve things? I am no expert!

Cheers for the advice fella's, It ain't a bad old chip TBH, I was bidding on a 3700X but pulled out when it went above £150! I think i will just stick with what i've got untill all the chip shortage madness is over!

At this point, AM5 and DDR5 is coming soon apparently.

So probably best just to wait for that.

Is what I'd do.

I was somewhat underwhelmed when I replaced my 1600x with a 3700x, so I assume you'd have the same opinion. Unless you've got a RTX3080 (or more) or a 240 hertz monitor it's not worth upgrading, and even then if I were to upgrade it'd only be the 5900x. At least with the AM5 parts coming next year you'll have a platform which will hopefully last longer into the future.

It depends on the game. I went from a Ryzen 5 2600 to a Ryzen 7 3700X and in modded Fallout 4 at qHD with a GTX1080,I saw minimums improve by nearly a third! The game only uses 4 to 6 threads.
