The concept is to be shown at the detroit motor show.

Amazing that they managed to fit the v12 tdi into the r8 (even if they had to lose the rear luggage space to do it). Would love to see how this concept would perform on a track - considering the weight of the engine I'm sure it would be less composed than the v8 fsi petrol.

I'd be hugely supised if the concept makes it to production though, surely the v8 diesel is the more obvious choice if there must be a diesel version?

Wouldn't be surprised if Audi did release a Diesel R8 what with their TDI push at Le Mans.

Will be very interesting if they did - would be the first proper diesel sportscar.

Sports car with a Diesel engine.

The point of that is......what exactly?

to be sporty because when you spend 80k+ on a 2 seater sports car you are worried about fuel bills. :D show me the v10 that might get a little excited :D

Nah its good... Supercars are going to be rediculously expensive... and can you imagine the Torque on that!!! lol.. Redline at about 4k RPM too. Uber cool

Sludge machine, I don't want sludge chip cookers in my supercars, no matter what you do to them they are NOT sports car engines, though I do like chips, that needs to be clear.

Ford are due to bring out a Diesel version of the Focus ST, i will prob going to buy it, ive always wanted a STD:p

By the way i was actually joking about the carbon footprint comment.

you forget people round here don't like diesels, along with old skool kool, hard slammed anything, ratty rods, American cars

basically anything that doesn't conform

*of course there are exceptions, these people know who they are
